Unity in Diversity: A Plea for Interfaith Understanding this Christmas
Have been seeing this updates over social media, thought i should pay a blind eye but I couldn’t. As someone who has always believed in tolerance and mutual respect, I am appalled by this statement advising Muslims not to accept gifts from Christians during Christmas. Personally, I have always sought to break down barriers and challenge misconceptions. I have gotten gifts from some of my well respected Muslim friends while I also do the same too, visited mosques, with my friends, not to pray, but to show solidarity and dispel the myth that Christians shouldn't set foot in a mosque. Most times I post pictures of me in the mosque and I got some comments from people and In turn I just feel like they don’t know what they are saying. What they fail to understand was that these set of friends I accompany to the mosque are not religiously stupid. I have never been one to argue about religion, as I believe it's a personal matter.
